Departed Bournemouth on the 06.30 Virgin XC service which arrived at Carlisle at 1.30pm. Spent the rest of that day at Carlisle and part of the following morning when a trip to Thornaby was decide on with the 'Gen' that 37710 was working the Thrislington-Tees limestone (my thanks to Driver Anderson for delaying his departure and for the Mega Thrash!!). The 4th of June was again spent at Carlisle where a prossesion of 'Heritage' Traction passed the station on various workings!! Returned home via the WCML and a very comfy seat in a MK3!! Those were the days!!
As i arrived at Carlisle 47279 was waiting the road South with a string of brand new KAA pocket wagons destined for use as piggyback wagons on a cement flow between Westbury and Southampton. The train ran as 6Z23 Rosyth Dk Yd-Bristol East Depot

47830 was comandeered to take a crippled MK3 from Wapping Sidings to Polmadie, a move which probably take a long while as the MK3 was on a wheel skate!!

60032 winds its train off the Tyne Valley line with the 6Z92 empty hoppers from Tees Yard. These continue to Hardendale overnight to be loaded with Lime and then on to Redcar the following day.

DRS Intermodals were in their infancy back in 2003 and Pairs of 37s were the Traction for the trains to/from Daventry. However they were soon trialling 66s and GBRf kindly leased a couple of machines for DRS use. 66710 has alresdy gained DRS decals as it crew changes with 4M30 Grangemouth-Daventry

Not sure what was going on here but 92019 arrived at Carlisle with 6M66 Mossend-Wembley Yd and 56067 was put on the front!! Either problems with the Dyson, Overhead wires or a move to get the Grid South
